After many years of experience in the therapeutic field in the state of Arkansas, Moses Chism moved to Texas to further his education in counseling studies to become licensed as a professional counselor. Prior to his move to Texas he graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from the renowned historical black college, Philander Smith College, located in the city of Little Rock, Arkansas. While supporting his wife and family of fifteen years, Moses attended Prairie View A&M University of Texas where he’d earned a M.A. in Counseling and graduated with honors, became certified as a License Professional Counselor (LPC) and received his supervisory certification.
Moses Chism is currently licensed by the Texas Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors and is qualified to counsel all ages, including, but not limited to, individuals and adolescents, couples, families, and/or conduct mental health groups. His experience includes his work as a private practitioner and hospital-based therapist for over 20 years. Since establishing his career in Texas in 2007, Mr. Chism has managed to excel in the City of Dallas, and Duncanville areas as a community liaison.
He has worked as a Mentor Coordinator, matching over 4,000 children with qualified mentors in the Turn Around Agenda program founded by Dr. Tony Evans at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship within a five-year term. He’s worked with Hickory Trail Behavioral Health Hospital, in Desoto, Texas as one of the most sought out lead therapist on the team. He’s offered his services to the Dallas ISD Family and Youth Services as a part-time counselor, and he’s served as Director and Consultant to Athletes for Change, a residential home for teenaged boys.
Currently, Moses Chism is operating full-time as CEO of I.C.C. He’s passionate, purpose-driven, and enjoys the privilege of helping clients achieve solutions for a wide range of issues like personal, mental health, children and adults battling grief and depression, anger and anxiety, suicidal ideation, addictions, physical and sexual abuse, relationship and marital issues. He specializes in helping each client discover their purpose in life beyond the pain as a personal life coach.
Sonya Chism primarily has over eighteen years of experience in business administration, clerical support, customer relations, and Healthcare management. Together with partner and spouse of seventeen years, Moses Chism has worked closely for many years and now utilizes both their experiences to co-counsel couples and troubled relationships.
She is also the founder of “A Writer’s Heart Journal Therapy,” (AWHJT) which is designed to promote journaling, music therapy, healthy living, and purposed living. Her organization (AWHJT) was founded in June 2010. She’s a wife, mother, and inspirational vocalist.
Her ultimate mission is to continue to help guide and coach hurting women all across the nation, journaling with a purpose. Through her own experiences of loss and disappointments, she’s developed a deep passion for broken, lost, and uninspired women. She presently focuses out her mission to personally encourage and inspire woman to begin utilizing one of the most therapeutic tools in today’s society which is journaling, as a means to becoming more instrumental to their health both mentally and physically.
Her passion is to change the way women cope with life’s stresses, brokenness, unhealthy relationships and failures. Co-counseling and working with hurting women through Innovative Centered Counseling Inc., has opened up an even greater avenue and has confirmed that there is such dyer need for more innovative methods of therapy.
